The Society of Our Lady of the Isles is an Anglican women's religious order within the Scottish Episcopal Church that began in 1984 when Reverend Mother Mary Agnes arrived on the island of Fetlar, Shetland, Scotland, to live a contemplative and isolated life of prayer, with the society formally named in 1988. It blends Franciscan and Cistercian practice with strong Celtic Christian influence, and its sisters, together with external oblates who support the community under simple vows, follow a structured rule of contemplative monastic life. The community relocated from Fetlar to the neighbouring island of Unst in 2015 for better access to medical and social services, building new chapel and community facilities at Westing, and has been described as arguably the most remote community by location within the Anglican Communion.
