New World Encyclopedia is a wiki reference project that takes Wikipedia articles as its starting point and has them rewritten and reviewed by an editorial team, rather than an independently researched encyclopedia. It was originated by Sun Myung Moon, founder of the Unification Church, and its first 12,000 articles were funded by UPF/IIFWP, Unification movement organizations, and managed under contract by Paragon House Publishers; since 2009 it has run instead on advertising revenue and donations. Its own editorial standard states explicitly that articles are held to "values tied to human purpose, the design of creation found in the world's great religions and spiritual traditions" alongside ordinary fact checking, so its treatment of a tradition other than the Unification movement itself carries that movement's own editorial lens rather than religiously neutral summary. This atlas separately records two individual articles from this project, on the Image of Edessa and the Vatican Library; each is one entry inside this same continuously maintained rewrite project, so citing this general record alongside one of those articles is the project's own editorial voice appearing twice, not two independent lines of evidence. Use it for general orientation only; a claim of any weight should be checked against a source produced outside the Unification movement.

Reliability Tier3
Tier three: a wiki reference project that rewrites and reviews Wikipedia articles under its own editorial team rather than independently researching them, originated and initially funded by the Unification movement and its founder Sun Myung Moon, with an editorial standard that explicitly measures articles against values drawn from the world's religious traditions rather than religiously neutral summary. Useful for general orientation; a claim of any weight needs a source produced outside the Unification movement. NotesA wiki encyclopedia that imports Wikipedia articles and rewrites them under editorial review, originated by Sun Myung Moon and initially funded by the Unification movement's UPF/IIFWP through Paragon House Publishers; self-sustaining on advertising and donations since 2009. Use for general tertiary summary only; check a claim about any tradition other than the Unification movement itself against a source produced outside that movement.
