This is Israel Regardie's own compendium of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn's rituals, knowledge lectures and correspondence tables, compiled and published by a former member of the order rather than by an outside historian. The atlas treats it as documenting what the order's own materials actually said, distinct from the separate, later scholarly histories of the order this atlas also holds, which examine its documented founding and institutional history from outside. This atlas also holds a separate record for the 1989 Llewellyn sixth edition of this same book, revised and expanded but the same underlying primary record; citing both together is one witness, not two independent ones. Use it for the content of the Golden Dawn's own rituals and teaching materials as Regardie recorded them. It is not independent evidence that any of the order's claims about its own lineage or authority are accurate, which is a separate historical question.

Derived from This

This 1989 Llewellyn printing is the sixth edition of the same book Regardie first published in four volumes through Aries Press in 1937; a later, revised and expanded edition of that same primary record, not an independently compiled account of the order's papers.
