The Right Angle Cross of Consciousness is named for Gate 63 and Gate 64, and its first article traces the doubt and the unresolved confusion the two carry in the Head, together with their design counterparts, Gate 5 in the Sacral centre and Gate 35 in the Throat. What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this cross draws one gate from each of the four.
Gate 63, the personality gate, falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind. Gate 64, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding. Behind them, Gate 5 falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation, and Gate 35 falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form.
So the doubt and the unresolved confusion the first article reads on this cross's exposed Head surface answer to the arcs of mind and bonding, while the fixed rhythm and the hunger for progress beneath them answer to the arcs of transformation and form. Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc: the consciousness this cross is named for is drawn from every corner of the wheel's own purpose rather than settled in one.
