Maya Hieroglyphic Writing: An Introduction

J. Eric S. Thompson's study is the standard reference for the structure of the Maya calendars, the Haab and Tzolkin counts, and the reading of month and day glyphs, working directly from the calendrical inscriptions themselves. This atlas cites the 1962 University of Oklahoma Press printing specifically; an earlier version of this record named the original 1950 Carnegie Institution of Washington printing instead, which did not match the actual linked edition, and the record has since been corrected to agree with what is actually cited, a correction stated here rather than left silent. Use it for the structure of the Maya calendrical count systems and glyph reading as this specific edition documents them.
