The Bada Udasin Akhara, formally the Udasin Panchayati Bada Akhara, is one of the two Udasin akharas recognized among the orders that take part in the Kumbh Mela, drawing on a syncretic Sanatan Sikh tradition that blends Sikh and Hindu practice. It was established on Basant Panchami in 1825 at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, its founding credited in most accounts to Yogiraj Shree Nirvandev Maharaj, though an alternative tradition credits the Udasi saint Santokh Das. Its main ashram later relocated to Prayagraj, and the order describes its mission as the promotion of traditional Indian culture and religion.
