Herbals: Their Origin and Evolution: A Chapter in the History of Botany, 1470-1670

Agnes Arber's is the standard scholarly history of the printed herbal, now in its second edition, revised since its original 1912 publication, and it is the specific work through which this atlas cites Nicholas Culpeper, whose own Complete Herbal is separately held at a lower tier as a primary tradition text rather than outside scholarship.
